Welcome to The Coffee Bean Kennel. We are a small breeder in Southwestern Virginia with a Big heart for Miniature Dachshunds. Do not let the word ‘Kennel’ scare you, for it is just a name. We have no ‘Kennels’. Our home is where our Dachshunds live and better the quality or Our Lives. Hopefully, One of Our Pups will better the Quality of Yours!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Patrons,
I must publicly apologize for the lack of updates for our newest litter. We have had to deal with incredible loss during this time of joy. We had originally been expecting 2 litters on March 28, Mercedes’ and Kaffee's. Mersadez developed problems 5 days prior to delivery and had to have an emergency C-Section. Four of the five puppies that where delivered were still born. We were saddened by this loss, but glad that the one baby girl and Mersadez were okay. Well, everything was not okay. Mersadez struggled to recover from the physical stresses her body endured prior to the C-Section. We lost Mersadez the same morning of the delivery of Kaffee's pups. Mersadez was the corner stone to the Coffee Bean Kennel. She is the sole reason I fell in-love with the breed. She was the sole reason the Coffee Bean Kennel was created. Now we are left with the loss of a family member, friend, and loved one. I am frantically trying to gather my strength and show Kaffee's litter to the world in true CBK fashion. Everyone that knows us will tell you that we do not sell dogs. We provide our patrons with best friends, loved ones, and lasting companions. Mersadez was not a dog. She was our child. Our friend. Our Passion.
Again, I greatly apologize to all of you that have been patiently waiting for pictures and updates. Thank you for your understanding.
Eric Hudgins
If you would like to see "Baby Sadie" please click Here. Kaffee accepted Baby Sadie into her brew immediately after her delivery. We are thankful for her strong motherly instincts. Since Baby Sadie was 5 days premature it was doubtful that she would have survived and thrived without a mothers milk. Baby Sadie will be staying here with us at the CBK. I apologize to all that were anticipating Long Coat Chocolates, but we cannot bare to part with her.
Daily Update -October 25, 2007
The new pups have been brewing to perfection here at the CBK. The Artists Pablo "Picasso", Claude "Monet", Vincent "Van Gogh", and Giovanna "Garzoni" have been super busy showing off their new splashes of color. Speaking of...we have some very exciting news! Pablo is not a Black and Tan Dapple...He is a Solid Black Dapple. A first here at the CBK! This pattern is very unique due to small amount of Solid Black breeding doxies here in the U.S. So, if you are looking for a doxie with a pattern like no other, Pablo could be for you! But, lets not forget about our other 3 Master Pieces. Go to our Puppy "Gallery" to view our lastest works of art and let us know if we can brew at Coffee Doxie into your Life!
Daily Update - October 7, 2007
We are happy to announce the arrival of our freshest brewed pups! Ebony whelped 4 healthy pups in the early morning hours of October 6, 2007. Pictures will be posted on the Puppy Page soon! If you would like to see some of our previously brewed pups you can visit our Video Page and/or the Past Pups Page
Daily Update - September 11, 2007
1. Mersadez became a Grandma on Saturday, September 8th, 2007! Her son, Mocha, the first puppy born at the CBK, produced a litter of 6 healthy Black and Tan pups! I will be coordinating with our friend and associate, Melinda, to get the pups pictures and info posted here on the CBK A.S.A.P. I will be accepting puppy applications and forwarding them to Melinda.
2. We also have a pregnancy announcement to make. We decided to take a mini-vacation last month with some friends and fellow doxie lovers. Well, that will probably be the last time we ever take a vacation. We decided to take Kaffee and Tutter along with us and have a dog-sitter take care of Mersadez, Ebony, and Lou while we were away. On the second day of our trip we received an urgent phone call. A water pipe had burst in the ceiling above the room Mersadez and Ebony were staying in. Lou was in a separate room due to the fact of Ebony and Mersadez were in full-blown heat and should skip a heat cycle between litters. Luckily, the sitter was able to save the girls before the water got too deep, but in the panic Lou escaped and mated with Ebony before the sitter could stop him. SO, we are patiently waiting for October 6, 2007 to see what Fresh Roasted Beans Lou and Ebony have produced. I will also begin taking applications for this litter as well. If any of you remember, early this year Ebony and Lou produced the Seven Dwarf Beans. We are expecting similar results from this litter. Solid Black, Black and Tan, Black and Tan Dapple all in short and/or long coats.
Have a Great Doxie Day,
Eric Hudgins
Daily Update - April 11, 2007
Welcome All. I just created a Video page for those users who are not able to access YouTube! We currently have 10 videos available for viewing. This week has been fairly uneventful. We have made a professional decision to not change our dog food to Royal Canin. It has come to our attention that some of Royal Canin's products are produced by Menu Foods. Instead, we upgraded to a better food than Royal Canin Formula, Canidae is now our dog food of choice. It has No Wheat Gluten, corn, or grain. It should also be more readily available and more cost effective to our customers. I hope you enjoy our videos. Stay Tuned...there will definately be more to come.
Daily Update - April 2, 2007
It has been a very eventful week. This past weekend 4 of the Dwarf Beans went to their new homes. This weekend 2 more leave us. But, we have also been busy behind the scenes planning the future of the Coffee Bean Kennel. Mersadez's and Clara's litters are now available. We have also purchased two new additions to the CBK. The first is Kaffee Bean. She is Red Brindle Long Coat that comes to us from DoxiePets.com. She will be with us in late April. The Second is Tutter Bean. He is a Wild Boar Soft Wire Coat. He had a pretty amazing adventure to get to our home. I would like to personally Thank Hope, Laura, Kim, and Dianne from the HotDogBlog.com. They all played a huge role in Tutter's life. Kaffee has 10 Champions in her pedigree and Tutter has 4. As always, things have been Very Caffeinated around here . Thank You All that have Purchased Coffee Doxies and we are looking forward to adding a Bean to your family. Have a Great Doxie Day, Eric & Mandy Hudgins
Daily Update - March 20, 2007
Due to the current retail Pet Food recall (and several months of research & comparison), The Coffee Bean Kennel has decided to switch dog food brands. We currently feed our Doxies Purina One Formula and Maxximum Premium brand dog foods. I have been researching new brands for about 4 months now, because I have never been satisfied with Retail Dog Food Ingredients. We are switching to the Royal Canin Dachshund 28, Mini Baby Dog, and Mini Puppy 33 Formulas. Royal Canin Dachshund formulas are breed specific and their products are more readily available than most high-end dog foods. As a Breeder/Owner/Dachshund Lover, I do not recommend ANY dog food that is bought from your local retail or grocery market. We are glad to finally to provide our Doxies with the food they deserve. Here is a Link to the Royal Canin Website.
Daily Update - March 13, 2007
We would like to welcome our new litter into the world! Clara had her Babies on March 13th, 2007. One Chocolate & Tan and Two Black & Tan Males. Coat is still T.B.D. It will take a couple weeks to see if they are Wire Coat or Short. All three weighed less than 4 ounces! They are tiny, but healthy and strong. Clara's maternal instincts kicked in strong and she is a wonderful, loving, proctective mother. Good job Clara. Like I said on another page, Clara was intended to be stud with Lou. Lou showed no interest in her at all. Just to be sure of Parentage I will run a DNA test to insure who the father is. Doxies are sly little canines aren't they? Anyway, if it comes out that Lou is the Father this will be a AKC litter! Lou's AKC paperwork is in the mail! We were able to obtain his AKC Pedigree and will now offer him for Stud Service and in the future will offer his "Services" through Artificial Insemination! Our little guy has turned out to be quite the stud. Hope Everyone has a Great Doxie Day. Stay Tuned for Pics of the new Litter!
Daily Update - March 06, 2007
This has been a Very eventful week here at the CBK. First off I would like to Introduce Ringo. Ringo (below) comes to us from Starside Dachshunds. He will be a permanent fixture of our little family. He has already been acquainted with Mersadez, because she is caring his Babies! Ringo is an AKC registered Red Long. He carries for Red, Cream, Black and Tan Solid and Piebald. He has a sweet personality and weights only 7.5 lbs. Next, I inform all that we still have 5 puppies available. All Males. We have some of the best quality pups available on the East Coast, between wonderful personalities, color, pattern, and coat length. Also coming is Clara's litter. She is due this Friday. We are expecting Black & Tan, Chocolate, and Red...Hopefully all in Wire Coat. They are the Sweetest of Dachshunds. Mersadez is also due later this month. Busy, busy month here at the CBK. Have a Great Doxie Day.
I would like to wish everyone a Happy Valentines Day. If Cupids arrow has yet to find its mark on you, you might want to visit our Puppy Page were I am almost certain one (or all) of our Seven Dwarf Beans could make you fall in love. Our new brood is happy, healthy, and growing. The coat length is yet to be determined. Some look like they might be long hairs. We will have to wait and see. I went against my better judgment and placed pics of the puppies before their eyes have opened. The demand to see them has been overwhelming. Peer Pressure is always difficult to handle. (LOL) I should have the Puppy Application ready and posted by the end of the day. Anyway, I wish everyone a lovely holiday.
We are proud to announce that Ebony has came into heat and that Mocha has been very busy ensuring the future of The Coffee Bean Kennel. Do to the complications with the previous two breedings. I will not announce her pregnancy confirmation until about the 50th day. Which will be around the second to third week in January. If so, this will be a Very Exciting Litter. I am guessing on mostly Black & Tans (Long and Short Hair). I am crossing my fingers for a Long Hair Chocolate & Tan or a Solid Black. Solid black Doxies, like Ebony, are not easy to come buy. I will never use the word 'rare'. I believe all Dachshunds are a Rare Gem in their own right. I would also like to annouce that Nicky made it through her Spaying with flying colors. She is now setteling into her new home that is only 15 minutes from the CBK. We will deeply miss her and will visit often. Third and Finally, we are very excited about ournew Coffee Doxie Merchandise Products. I am working with CafePress and Zazzle to offer a better selection to all Doxie lovers world wide. Please feel free to browse through our shops. It's not too late to give that special someone a beautiful Doxie Gift. Have a Great Doxie Day!!!
Hi All!! I would like to announce some good news and bad news. The bad news first. We have found Nicky a Great Pet home only 15 minutes from CBK. Due to her distemperment problems we have decided to find her wonderful owners. She will be the only pet to this couple. This was a very difficult decision, but will fill it is her best interest. We wish her to be very happy, because she deserves it. On to the Good News...We have a New Female!!! Clara is the newest addition to our family. She is a BLack & Tan Wire Hair. She is so adorable. Some of the other doxies are not taking the new doxie well. Believe it or not, Mocha is the one that is causing most of the problems. He does not like the long spiked hair. I guess he is confused, thinking that she is CatDog!! By-The-Way, Mocha is not a big fan of cats. Anyway, we are so delighted that she part of our family. Stay tuned, Clara will be coming into heat within the next few months!!! Have a Great Doxie Day!!
